Spiritual Journal · Beyond the Scene

When you see someone unhappy, it always reflects a scene
a situation, a moment, an energy field.
Every scene brings forth a feeling: joy or sadness, calm or fear.
The scene mirrors the soul.

To “transcend the scene” is to shift the environment,
to transform fear into peace, confusion into clarity.

When there is no scene,
the heart rests in its most stable and tranquil state.
When there is a scene,
all that appears is but an illusion.

If one can stay as calm as the surface of the sea—
unmoved by the rising and falling of the waves,
simply reflecting what comes and goes—
that is true mastery.
Always remember: you are the mirror.
The waves themselves are made of the sea.
Do not forget your original nature.

In the dialogue between Shenxiu and Huineng,
the teaching begins by transcending the scene, transcending the self—
revealing one’s true nature,
and returning to the clarity of innate wisdom.

🕊 Return to Stillness.
